Home Learning Resources- Ms. Oliver's Class

Teacher's Message-
First and foremost I want to thank everyone for participating, but my number one concern is to make sure everyone is safe! I know some are not able to participate and may even be sick or have someone near and dear to them that maybe. My heart and prayers is with everyone. For those that have to go out and are essential, please be safe! You are so important to your children above all, and I want to sincerely thank you for all you do!!

I wanted to make this as easy as possible. This is a weekly schedule it will continue. Any time of day that students can work on it is fine, except for the Zoom calls they are scheduled for 11 am-12 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.

If you have any questions or need to reach me send me a message through Remind, or email me at oliver@libertyelementary.net. If you email me send me a message on Remind to let me know because this email is not directly linked to me so I may not know you sent something unless you let me know.

Language Arts-
We are working on Greek Gods and Goddesses. Students should be working on the following assignments each week.
  1. Go onto YouTube and watch the full movie of Hercules (1997).  There are 33 parts to the movie and it will play one after another.  Please get the link to the video here.
  2. Complete the weekly assignments posted in Nearpod.  Ms. Oliver will send out Nearpod links twice a week. Nearpod will everything to the student and they can speak their answers so they don’t have to type. The application has both pictures and videos. I think the kids will love them.
  3. Make progress on your Greek Gods and Goddesses project.  Students will make information posters for each God and Goddess. Students should do two posters a week.  More information is below and will be discussed during the Zoom call.  Requirements on the project are listed below...
  • Be creative and design a poster on a sheet of paper, poster board, or whatever you have available.
  • Each poster should be bold and big so you can see it the gods name.
  • Please include a picture or a symbol related to the god.
  • Include three facts about the god.
  • The gods you can choose from are: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, Hestia/Dionysus.

Please make sure you are completing these math tasks daily.  This will help you to continue to develop your math skills, increase your fluency, and help you with problem solving.
