1st Grade Summer Camp Resources
Week 4: July27th-31st
This week we travelled to Australia with Mr. Leith! We learned about the outback, Australian animals, and life in "the down under!" Next, we visited Ms. Elizabeth and Mr. Harvey in England! We learned about the Queen, having tea, and English words that have a different meaning in England than they do here in America. Did you know that in England an apartment is called a "flat"? At the end of the week, we each presented our individual research projects about various countries around the world!
Week 3: July 20th-24th
This week we started our travels in the Philippines with a special guest tour guide, Ms. Espedido. We learned about their customs and traditions! We also traveled to Kenya and Chile this week! Next week we will journey to the continents of Europe and Australia with some special guests!
This week we also selected a country to begin working on for our individual research projects and have started to fill our our graphic organizers about our specific country!

Week 2: July 13th-17th
We explored each continent more in depth through books, videos, and virtual tours! We recorded our learning in a graphic organizer! We prepared for our first "virtual flight" by learning about passports and why they are needed. We packed our suitcases and on Friday will board our first flight to Shanghai, China!
Week 1: July 6th-10th
This week we were introduced to the seven continents and learned that the Earth is made up of land and water! We learned the names of the seven continents using songs!
